Overview

Grindelwald-First : First in fun, adventure, and views.

Grindelwald-First is nothing short of a wonder on earth, rising more than 7,000 feet up in the Swiss Alps. This perfectly pristine area of amazing views will leave even the most jaded explorer breathless, and not just from the altitude. It’s a hiker’s heaven, within a spectacular 50-minute trek from First Summit station to the clear blue water of Lake Bachalp. Adventurers will also find a stunning cliff walk and the nothing-short-of-awesome First Flyer zipline. This zipline from First to Schreckfeld carries up to four people at the same time and covers almost half a mile at speeds up to 52 miles per hour. Increase your smiles per hour by journeying back down from Bort to Grindelwald in an off-road bike, known as a trottibike. Prefer a lower center of gravity ride in the hills ? You’ll love the ground-hugging First Mountain Carts — go carts in the most magnificent setting on earth. And we haven’t even gotten to the children’s adventure play area at Bort station yet, you’ll want to leave extra time for this included attraction. Those with a Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Travel Pass Flex (on validated travel days), or holders of other Swiss Travel System tickets will receive a 50% discount on Grindelwald-First. Plus, with the Swiss Travel Pass, children 6-16 years of age accompanied by at least one parent travel free of charge with the complimentary Swiss Family Card. Grindelwald-First. You have to see it to believe it, even if it’s the last thing you do.
